can speak from experience, government cut where the accident occurred is a dangerous inlet to travel. It's a no wake zone but people routinely speed through there. And the jettys they hit are not lighted, making it very difficult to see at night. It was already brought up on local news here in Miami and I have a feeling a lawsuit will be coming shortly.
If they don't put up flood lights around the jettys they should at least have marker lights making it easier to spot. Such needless death over cheap lights should never happen again.

i thought the guy said it had been stopped several times for random safety inspections, not violations. maybe i heard wrong.
