Hot damn I was productive tonight. Lowered my Comcast/phone bill, failed a mid-term, filed my taxes, helped the wife with some name change BS, drank a bunch of beer, AND did some laundry.

If you can't turn that thing off, I'm going to have to ask you to leave.
Fine. You wanna act like you're two? I'll act like I'm one.

P.S. BDawk, I hope you are okay. Give us an update on your condition

Doing allright, nothing is broken, torn ligaments and a severe sprain. According to the Dr a break would be less painful but she still didn't give me painkillers.

$60 a month for digital cable? And that's the promo rate? Why is Comcast so evil? I wonder if I can haggle with my future landlord to let me post a dish outside the building... but I doubt it's going to work.

Hell, I lived cable-free for the first 23 years of my life. Who says I can't last one more until I get the dish in my own house? With broadcasts in HD, there's no static and awesome pictures, so all I'm giving up is the ESPN, Phils, and History and Discovery stuff that I don't have right now.

Does Dateline ever do stories that aren't catching a predator anymore?

Is stealing beer from a restaurant supposed to be funny?

My wife had an idea for a restaurant she might open. Salad, Soup, and Sandwiches. They would also have good desserts and fancy coffee. It sounds like a lot of work for not a lot of money. I wonder if Milty thinks this is a good idea.

My buddy Mit Nycox used to run interference with the whole staff of this one restaurant in town while I'd sneak to the back and grab as many beers as tunder 'n lightning (what i call my arms) could hold. What he'd do and this is the clever part and what made Mit such a fun guy was that he would carry like 3 handguns on him all the time and so like he'd be handing his menu back to some floozy waitress and plan it so that his 357 or whatever would hit the ground and discharge "accidentally" right? and believe it or not that caused stir enough most nights to allow me to grab 2-3 full cans of bud no problem.

How'd you lower your Comcast bill? Every month I cringe at how much I'm paying Comcast--would love to lower this bill!

I guess I'm getting what I pay for, then.

Signed up for their "Triple Play"

Previous bill:
Internet, HD Cable $140/month
Cavalier Telephone $40

New bill:
Internet, HD Cable, and digital voice phone $120/month

This deal is for 12 months, and then the price will go up to $160 total, but that will still save me $20 per month based on what I'm paying now. I think you can also pick and choose the "Triple Play" rates if you don't want one or more of the features. I've heard crummy reviews of the Comcast phone service thus far (it's hit or miss) but I was considering getting rid of our land line altogether b/c we rarely use it.

Is this true? I don't need or want a land line phone at all. However, if I can get internet and digital cable for $66 per month (plus I'm guessing they'd tack on a few more bucks for HD), I would promise to say only nice things about Comcast for the entire year.
