One advantage to living in a small town is it's generally easier to get things done--doctor's appointments, the furnace repair guy, all can be had pretty much whenever you need them.

Not today though. Something's wrong with the way the car starts. Called our repair shop to drop the car off today, and they said they won't be able to look at it until tomorrow! So, now the car's completely dead, and it will either need a jump or a tow. And we need a rent a car.

I hope my neighbor Mike's around in the morning. He'll give me a jump.
