Cardinals have 18 losses, more than the phillies, but also have a +49 run differential

The pirates who are even with them in the nl central have a -2 diff

The Cubs are 27-9. That's one game behind their Pythagorean record of 28-8. Their third-order record is 29.5-6.5.

Really

538 has them as the favorite in every game for the rest of the season except for a game in San Francisco this weekend where Kyle Hendricks opposes Madison Bumgarner. They only have a 49% chance in that one...
