crashburn also really upset that he didn't come up with that angle first.

Meaning no Ng I guess. I don't care as long as thy get someone good.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

Winkleman is a must mute/unfollow in the offseason. He'll rant about nothing for days.

Winkelman is pretty insufferable.

Didn't exactly see them standing up for the plight of minorities in baseball when Ruben Amaro got fired.

So they're saying they should have made Ng a finalist just because. Or, worse, that they excluded minorities from finalist contention just because.

Way to make people turn a deaf ear to an otherwise important issue

exactly. these guys aren't tasked with making the best choice for a billion dollar organization. the phillies were looking for a particular skill set that was always going to lean toward a certain demographic in this case. dave stewart is certainly doing a hell of a job in arizona as a minority hire.

True, though Winkelman was actually Ruben Amaro Superfan #1 on Twitter for a really long time, to the point that it looked like he was trying to get hired by him or something. It was very odd and off-putting.

I agree. I could never tell whether he actually believed that or was just doing the "I'll take the position contrary to public opinion because I'm smarter than everyone else" routine.

that's his MO and the crashburn crowd as well. there is no nuance in their opinions.

Seems like it's gonna be Klentak. He was one of the early names we heard
