Was looking at JWill the other day. Need that Game 7 magic for Babcock

TLDR version:
-- Get a head coach
-- Buy out Lecavalier
-- Trade Luke Schenn
-- Re-sign Del Zotto
-- Bring back Justin Williams and also sign Jarret Stoll and Colin McDonald
-- Sign Jhonas Enroth to replace Emery
-- Give Morin, Ghost and Alt a shot at making the team
-- Draft the #1 Euro skater (Rantanen), #5 NA skater (Crouse) or #11 NA skater (Barzal) with the #7 pick

Obviously getting a HC is priority one. We all know that Berube was death on Vinny. The coach may be able to get something out of Vinny, Umberger and AMac so the buyout may be premature. I'm into moving Schenn. In fact I'd move both Schenns and Grossmann if possible this off season. Signing Williams may have merit but I'd pass on Stoll and McDonald. Better to re-sign White. Enroth would be a decent pick up. Adding young defenseman is going to happen. Drafting Crouse would fit. If he's gone take Rantanen.
Look for big surprise moves by Hextall. Adding a #1 defenseman and perhaps more. Hexy with a new coach may shock the fans with the make over that takes place. I'm really looking forward to what happens over the summer. This team could really improve itself. There is a lot of talent on the club and in the system. That's why Berube was fired.

i don't want crouse- would seemingly be a pick based on need over talent.

disclaimer: never once saw him play

Couturier is playing first line center for Canada at Worlds and is tearing it up.

Playing with Hall and Eberle, which to be fair Berube didn't exactly have at his disposal here, but man did he fuck that up

It was an organizational disaster from day 1 when Lavy put him on the 3rd line and made him a "shutdown" center (LOL).

The kid came out of the draft with superior offensive skills and they try to make him a defensive specialist. Only the Flyers........

That's a fun little wrinkle.

Holmgren would give a 2nd round pick

I think coots is a guy who has a chance to breakout with the right coach and role
On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed is he?

agreed. if schenn is amenable to playing wing, i'd put coots at second line center with him and simmonds. this assumes raffl on top line. if schenn doesn't want to play wing then trade him and his dumb brother for one.

Babcock update

Four clubs have sought permission to speak with Babcock, according to a source – Toronto, Buffalo, St. Louis and San Jose. ... The Philadelphia Flyers and Edmonton Oilers, other teams who were expected to make a pitch for Babcock, have not asked for permission to talk to him.

welp

Had the same feeling at the very beginning... He wasn't all hat bad in his first stint here, picked up a little Stanley cup experience along the way and most importantly there is the comfort level. If you're on board with hextall coming back I don't see why anyone would really be against this move either.

Would like to have seen him succeed somewhere else not just as an assistant. He obviously underachieved in Philly as Lavy came in right away and took the team to the next level. They really need to go outside of the organization or past retreads.
