Every year I'm always confident in the Flyers draft pick in the first round. That pick is always going to be at the very worst, a guy that plays in the league for a decade. All of the other rounds is where we draft too many nobodies (lately that's started to change). But now the Flyers have two first rounders on top of The Core Four. Exciting.

He led all defenseman in PIM last year with 152. Only had 4 fighting majors so most of them stupid minors. He'll fit in nicely!

From a scouting report last year:

When Gudas is on the ice the team’s plus-minus is even, when he is off the ice it is a plus 0.39 rating. He is also essentially cancelling himself out in terms of penalties He takes 0.8 penalties per 60 minutes and draws 0.6 per 60 minutes.

His Corsi numbers also check out decently, and he's not a liability contract-wise. He's probably a third-pairing guy, but he's not a throw-in.

Could you get Voynov in a salary dump deal (Umberger, MacDonald, Vinny, etc going the other way) and then hope the NHL relieves his cap hit / terminates his contract when he goes to prison or is deported?

Also there's a condition on the TB 1st-rd pick where we get the Rangers' pick instead if TB collapses, misses the playoffs and wins the lottery for McDavid
