Bill Simmons ranks who he thinks deserves the top pick. Has Sixers near the bottom for tanking. The Celtics are at number two, conveniently ignoring that they've tanked on multiple occasions.

Houshphandzadeh wrote:it's just the dissonance that's so annoying. they did the same damn thing. his idea that the Celtics really gave it the old college try but Brown was just cancelling practice is so frustrating. poor Gerald Wallace was calling out the team for not trying every other week

He mentioned multiple times during the year how they'd sit Rondo or Stevens would fail to use timeouts that could change the momentum of the game. The Sixers fought as hard as they could all season. They just blew up the team beforehand (which is something Simmons always recommends).

He's probably also sticking up for his NBA countdown buddy.

All I know is when they open up the envelope for the #10 pick, the Pelicans logo better be in it otherwise it's going to be an unpleasant night.

So can anyone tell me what time the lottery is and how the ball system works?

Last year somebody wrote up one for each lottery team in advance. Was hoping to see that again but no dice

Because Stern isn't around anymore, but hey let's have some fun with it:

Milwaukee = New owners; their team finished worse than the worst NBA team ever assembled
SIXERS = Top 5 market that needs a marketable player (not that MCW and Noel can't be those guys, but right now they aren't)
Orlando = Still recovering from the loss of Dwight Howard, they also need a marketable player
Utah = A perennial playoff team that hasn't had any success since Jerry Sloan left, they've never had the #1 pick in their franchise history
Boston = duh
LA Lakers = duh
Sacramento = New owners including Shaq; the best team of the 2000s that never reached the Finals, they haven't been to the playoffs in 8 years

Everyone else, they've already had their shot at getting better (looking at you, Cleveland and New Orleans).

Actually, I'd be fine with Vonleh at #5 - Wiggins/Parker/Embiid/Exum/Vonleh are all OK with me. Do not want Randle.

Losing #10 would definitely hurt. Chad Ford projecting the Sixers to pick Saric at #10 regardless of who they pick at the top.

#5 without #10 would be even unpleasanter.

Yeah this is where I'm at.

Would obviously like to get higher so we have somewhat of a choice though.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

The best way to watch the draft is hope every pick is where it's supposed to be until commercial break after #4. Utah at #4 baby!
