But what is a combination and how does one combination differ from another? Is it a bunch or numbers? And what do those numbers mean?

It's a combination of four numbers in a specific order. Think of how many of these you can make with 14 different numbers, and imagine how long a list of a team's potential combinations are:

1-2-3-4
1-3-2-4
1-2-4-3

No numbers repeat in a combination. They use 14 different numbers for the 14 different teams, but it's a way of making the process completely random. And as I said above, it's a way of using a normal sized machine instead of trying to shove 30,000 team logo balls into one machine.

Also, only one team is assigned each combo. So there's a team that has 1-2-3-4 IN THAT ORDER, but no other team has it.

It's much more clear now. Thanks.

Do we know how many combos the worst has in comparison to the best?

I am sure some morons will have a conspiracy theory for it being fixed no matter what team wins it.

It's the chances/1000 on that chart in the first page of this thread (Bucks have 250 combos, we have 199 etc)

The Karma Gods can’t reward anyone who lost 26 straight

Literally the only other team that has lost 26 straight in NBA history won the lottery that year.

It would be much clearer if you think of it quasi-hexidecimal. 1-E. 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-A-B-C-D-E

Then it would be just like the big four.

So your number might be 1E5A.

Don't think the Sixers at 10 is egregious, but the Celtics at 2 is awful even for him

it's just the dissonance that's so annoying. they did the same damn thing. his idea that the Celtics really gave it the old college try but Brown was just cancelling practice is so frustrating. poor Gerald Wallace was calling out the team for not trying every other week

Bill Simmons ranks who he thinks deserves the top pick. Has Sixers near the bottom for tanking. The Celtics are at number two, conveniently ignoring that they've tanked on multiple occasions.

he doesn't ignore it, he openly says it, which is even funnier.
