After they LTIR Pronger and trade Vinny, that's about 9.4 mil of cap space that they freed up for a backup goalie (still have to re-sign Schenn, Hall, Akeson). I don't think we get any homerun offseason deals. What exactly do you mean by "go for it?" Go for what exactly? Thinking is "oh well, we lost to the East Champs in 7 games, just gotta figure out how to beat them and we are in the Finals?"

Rumors of Hartnell to Columbus for a pick are out there.
I'm not for moving Coburn unless there is a better replacement for him brought onto the roster. He can be disappointing because his game isn't better but he still is a decent defenseman. Maybe he gets asked to do too much?
PTOITWCFTPP wrote: Schenn isn't in line for some huge payday. Him not being signed yet doesn't give him leverage re Vinny being traded, Laughton negates that imo.

If the Flyers don't match an offer that he receives the compensation to them is as you laid out. So if Schenn signs in the 3-5 million area, which is a strong possibility, the Flyers would receive a 1st and 3rd round pick from the team that signed Schenn. Hardly adequate compensation. The Flyers would be better to trade him to a team that might accept his contract demands and get player compensation in return.

Like a defenseman. Package him and his brother please. Laughton fills that void.
