Pretty interesting career. Became a regular at age 23. Outstanding season at age 24, really good year. Also very good at age 27, 29 and 31. Been kind of meh or worse in his other eight seasons. Hasn't been any good since 2010.

He's due.

Amaro is..... I don't even fucking know at this point. His excuse for Delmon was his RBI in Detroit. What could it be for Wells? He had one good month for the Yankees? He's 35?

It's like a game show centered around pissing me off. And Ruben Amaro is the Ken Jennings of this show.

I am considering not ordering MLB Extra Innings this season. It'd be the first season I haven't ordered it since the mid 2000's. I just can't justify spending $200 again this year for meaningless games after June.

Are they going to stop keeping score in July?

Seriously, I would have loved to be able to watch a lot of Phillies games during the 80s and 90s when I lived elsewhere. Didn't matter that they sucked most of the time.

wells was was once more valuable than our whole outfield put together, but is now less valuable than jayberry and maybe even less valuable than c.hernandez. currently, like mayberry and hernandez, he can't play center, and he can't hit any better than either. he strikes out less than mayberry, but walks less too and has less power. he's got more power and baserunning savy than cesar, but can't play 2b, and cesar has the speed to keep pace offensively by maintaining a high babip.
the only possible upside to acquiring wells is the fact that he's basically a minimum wage guy and could enable a trade of jayberry and cesar that saves a million dollars and/or nets a useful player in return. which ain't gonna happen.
