Phillies will not sign sixth-round pick OF Jason Monda from Washington State. He agreed on draft day, but decided to return to college.

What's this kid's rationale - he was picked in the 6th round, not too shabby. He's hoping he moves up, what, a couple rounds at best? But he loses a year in the system and there's the risk he regresses and gets drafted later or not at all. fucking kids.

Callis reporting Jan Hernandez (3b) bonus as 550K (slighly over the 535,800 slot value). Assuming that Wetzler is a slot signing and Monda is a lost cause, the Phillies have 235K of extra pool value to play with for signings after the 10th round. If they can finalize the Martarano deal at 100k, great, please do. I could see Keys getting the whole 235K (i.e. a 335k bonus). Don't know if Jax is a lost cause at this point. Maybe Child is signable after the CWS.

Or things don't work out in college for whatever reason and he loses his scholarship and he ends up with nothing.
