Since this looks to be a .500 team, the near-simultaneous bumping of the "I'm ALL IN" and "Tear it down" type threads will be both amusing and annoying by April 27th.
I know what you're asking yourself and the answer is yes. I have a nick name for my penis. Its called the Octagon, but I also nick named my testes - my left one is James Westfall and my right one is Doctor Kenneth Noisewater.

Anyone know the actual answer to "Great trade, who did we get?"

I saw it yesterday. I had forgotten after all these years.

Pretty kewl though.

I'm inspired after watching Lefty win his 300th back in '83 on the ESPN Classic.

Everyone thought that team was too old and they didn't hit much for half the year but they ended up going to the World Series anyways. They had a 1Bman who played in 155 games and wasn't a good fielder and OPS plussed 69. Their Ace pitcher lost 16 games and only two pitchers won more than 9 games.

But they won their division and won the NLCS.

Why not us?

You think this team is old? That team on average was 32.1 years old, 2013 Phillies 30.9 so far.

Edit now that I looked at it out of curiosity, the Yankees averaged 33.0 years old last year...damn

Average age doesn't mean much to me. The Phils have around 14 important guys in the 32-36 age group. That's an old team in my view. But it can certainly make the World Series as they have veteran leadership and moxie.

That's my story anyways.

I had a roommate in NH that was obsessed with drinking Moxie. He would drive all over the place looking for the stuff. I think they put an addictive chemical in it that made him crave it fortnightly.

I drank it once as a kid when our family was visiting New England. I don't think I liked it much.

Name that movie quote (actually all I could remember was that they said something about Moxie):

Have room service send up a tub of goose grease and two bottles of Moxie.
"No woman can call herself free who does not control her own body."

1.5 back of Washington, 4 back of Atlanta

Seems like it should be much worse than that
