Rollins, Howard and Brown too

Fuck

Brown feels better than that, maybe cause he's walking or because I'm so blind in hoping he turns good that I ignore his crap

That Howard number is just fucking awful. Like so fucking bad.

Motherfucker those are some miserable numbers

Ruben Amaro Jr. career OPS: .663

He built a team in his likeness. A team of Ruben Amaro Jrs.

He practically leaves his feet on most swings. Revere too. Rollins swinging from his ass on obvious off speed stuff. Howard...

Really bad look right now, fkk

He has a .229 BABIP FFS. 11.1 BB%, 18.1 K%, both of which are good/very good numbers. He's hitting a ton of popups, but otherwise his batted ball splits indicate he should have more success then he has had. If he still sucks after May, fuck it.

At least we have a strong core of minor league players ready to step up any day now.

Of course he'll have more success with numbers like that. The question is whether he'll have enough success to be an everyday corner OF.

My fear is that he'll continue to struggle, then we'll get the news that his back injury was worse than we were told so, once again, he's got an injury preventing him from breaking out. Then we'll have to listen to how, if the Phils hadn't jerked him around, if he hadn't had the hand/leg/back injury, blah, blah, blah.

I know it's just sort of poking around in the poo with a stick, but Rollins' numbers aren't terrible-that OPS puts him in the top half of shortstops with 50 or more PA, and really he's only a few good games from his career averages.

Howard and Revere on the other hand have no silver lining other than there's no way they can stay THAT bad. Sadly, there's also no guarantee that the people on top of that list will maintain their production when those two get around to it.

1.018 OPS as pinch hitters, though! We just need to get a roster exemption and expand enough that no one plays regularly.

Well, tell her to stop hanging around the clubhouse, dammit. These guys need to focus on baseball.

He had some loud outs in early April. But the bottom line is, he'll never a consistent line-drive hitter with such poor balance. That thing where he fails off a high pitch and literally hops two or three times on his back foot? I've never seen anything like that in 30 years of watching baseball.

It's like his lower and upper bodies aren't connected. I wish he'd try a wider stance or a front leg kick, or something, to force balance.

Not throwing in the towel by any means, but it's really discouraging to see such mechanical regression since March.

Brown will be fine. He has a 24% LD rate and an 11% BB rate. My fear is panic such that we end up seeing him on the bench when Young is activated. Rollins runs hot and cold. He'll be fine.

The problem is that Howard is terrible beyond my most pessimistic predictions. I cannot even remember the last time he came close to hitting a HR.

Also, although for some reason replacing Victorino's .340ish wOBA with the worst hitter in ML history seemed like a good idea at the time, it turns out that maybe that wasn't the way to go.

He actually hit .294. i think he can be a .280 hitter. He's striking out a shit ton right now. He's still a worthless offensive player at .280 though.

Thinking back, it's been sad watching the team slowly spiral downward from 2007 when our offense would bludgeon teams to death fairly regularly. I mean, the Rollins/Utley/Howard core has always been streaky as hell, but at least there used to a real possibility of a rally.

if he hits .280 and steals 50 bases at an 85% success rate, hes not worthless. in fact, that would probably make him worth about 1 win offensively. then factor in his defense....

Please. A model that tells you Revere is worth 4 wins over a replacement level player is a model that still needs tweaking.

10.8% IFH -> 4.0% IFH, 66.9% GB -> 75.8% GB. Ugly.
