Let's ignore Rube once again being frank about his defense

Between this and using Durbin in a high-leverage spot last night, I have a bad feeling about where the Manuel/Amaro thing is headed

So, Kendrick's swinging strikes are getting closer to his career numbers (down from the serious uptick last year). He is getting more in the strike zone whiffs though. His BABIP isn't insanely high...he's looked almost legitimately... serviceable...so far this year.

He's keeping the ball down. Almost to the point of being too cute with it, although he's not walking many people. I guess they look too appealing to take

Over the last 3 years, his ERA+ 119, 104 and 121 so far this year, over a total of ~300 IP. His K rate has gone up each season. It's time to face the fact that he's developed into an above-average MLB starting pitcher.

And since I take heat for being negative, I'd like to point out that I've been on the kendrick bandwagon for a while. He came up before he fully developed because he was needed. The extra pitch has completed the transformation. He's still got one of the most punchable faces in sports, but let's give him his due..... he doesn't suck.

the strange thing is, i think he could actually be a lot better. he does not incorporate his lower half much at all in his delivery, and i think if he lengthened his stride, he would actually add 2-3 mph to his fastball. as it is now, his delivery is almost all arm/upper body.

Future Phillie. RT @jcrasnick: Jeff Keppinger is hitting .155 with a .151 OBP. You don't see that too often. He has 71 ABs, 1 SF and no BBs.

That's pretty good.
