I don't know how signing Boesch makes Galvis the top lefty off the bench? Signing Boesch makes Boesch the top lefty

Oops yeah you have a point. Confused him with some other chod

Anyway, strikes me as a grass is greener type move, unless they're still worried about Nix's calf

Boesch is one year removed from a 2.3 WAR season. Change of scenery and all that.

Boesch is not yet 30 so that's good. He had pretty good year just two seasons ago and wasn't too bat in 2010. Has hit lefties better than righties.

Boesch is what the Frenchies called the krauts back in the big one,so there's that too.

Actually, they were called "the Bosh" (or "Bosch"). The "e" in Boesch's name is a replacement for an umlaut over the "o" in German, which indicates a different vowel quality, usually fronting or rounding.

That was the French in the North of France. In the South they called the krauts the Boesch.

didn't realize his fastball velocity was that good last year.....not really that far off from 2011. I wonder what his spring training velocity was last year?

Brown really doesn't give you a warm and fuzzy feeling in interviews.

Thanks, that was excellent. Maybe the best part of that team's core was how they played the game -- just relentlessly smart, fundamentally sound baseball, and that's on top of the great defense and hitting. I think that's what really bothered me about last year -- poor fundamentals and dumb baseball. I can take losing, but losing with errors, missed cutoff men, and dumb baserunning just kills me.

Why would you be hoping that he strikes out a lot?

me, too

i get the backlash against the "strikeouts r bad" crowd but i'd rather have a low strikeout/high OBP guy if possible, and i think Dom has that skillset
