anyway, Upton's deal is inherently bad because it's inherently the peak of his market. he got teams to big on him as a free agent and he took the most favorable offer. you don't trade Domonic Brown for someone in that situation unless the team who just agreed to pay him a bunch of money decides to pay him a little bit to play for someone else. or unless the Braves take all that money back the other way (i.e. Ryan Howard is part of the deal)

Actually the peak of a market can still undervalue a player, but whatever.

it's about perceived value, not actual value. I guess if you think B.J. Upton is underpaid you could make the deal. Does anyone think that?

Houston dropped Bedard from their starting rotation and they're looking for someone to replace him. Wonder if Cosart gets called up, or don't they want to start the clock on him yet?

I was just taking issue with your statement that a players top market value is inherently an overpay, which is not the case.

Cosart has been quite good at OK City. Finally has some stats that match his stuff. 29 Ks in 26 IP. Not actually a pitchers league either.

That's awesome. I love how nobody cares. He's strutting to himself.

Taking my son to the Wilmington Blue Rocks game tonight, so I called to find out what time the gates open and if there is bp before the game. She tells be gates open at 5:35, but she didn't know if there was bp because "she isn't given that information". Ooooo-Kay then.
