Yeah this is probably who he is now, not the 2010-2011 version. I doubt the back leg weakness is an issue, and there are few examples of big slugging first basemen rebounding after down years.

I still think the better option is to trade for a 3b (AramRam) and sign a FA for CF, putting a platoon in the non-Brown OF corner.

Only way this doesn't hold is if they believe Utley is much more likely to get to 500 plate appearances playing third than second.
