There are a lot worse alternatives, especially if Rube can get him for a reasonable deal. Even if we get Upton, there are still major question marks in the OF corners.

I think they'll sign Myers instead of Madson... Madson probably still is gonna look to close before settling for setup

The highest salary Cody Ross has ever received was $6.3MM. Last year he played for $3MM. He's never had more than a 1-year deal. If those are anywhere near what he'd sign for in Philly, Rube should definitely go for it.
