i thought that he still pitched for the white sox. i thought him and floyd were like the best thing ever. i'm so confused.

i didn't quite make the connection of stats to his performance either. i think he said he wanted to be roy halladay so he started throwing a 2 seamer

Well just how he focused on where he was going wrong. He was giving up too many fly balls which he discovered by looking at his GB/FB%. Helped him focus on things he could control.

As I recall 2-3 was not a popular format in the 90s. Bad news all around for the home teams - underdog has a great chance to jump ahead in series, and even if you sweep you lose gate revenue with only one home date.

Yeah, it seems like a dumb solution to the problem of there being no off day to hold the play-in games, which doesn't need to be the case in future years.
