Bowker's -100 OPS+ is basically what you'd expect out of the last kid that gets picked in phys ed that stands in right field, picks his nose and watches birds. Gonna miss that

I believe Lidge will be back since he's not going to be given a closer job. He's been holding out for that kind of opportunity but it ain't happening. That being the case I'm guessing he'd be happiest in a 7th/8th inning role with the Phils (1 yr. deal).

Assuming Hamels gets about $12M, how much money do we have left?

I'd like these 2 moves to be made:

Sign Kerry Wood, $4M x 1
Sign Jonny Gomes, $2M x 1

Wood can still bring it, and it would push Herndon to AAA. With Kendrick in the pen, there isn't much of a need for Herndon.

Gomes crushes LHP, but can't hit righties. .311/.407/.456 -- .167/.292/.362 last year. Still draws walks. .194 BABIP against RHP didn't help, but he strikes out a ton. for his career, he's .281/.375/.501 v LHP and .224/.306/.427 v RHP.

Nix hits RHP decently, doesn't hit LHP at all. So, there you go.

You'd have to DFA one player currently on the 40 man, and that player is Erik Kratz.
