Yeah, Jimmy can be frustrating as hell sometimes, but he's been my favorite for years simply because when he gets hot, he's so fun to watch. All aspects of his game seem to be on at once. And he seems to stay locked in for a while. Been a while since that's happened though.

With all the blown saves in 2009 and all the injuries since, his perfect 2008 is even more mind blowing now than it was then.

Let's be honest, he wasn't any good last year - unless you think .258 /.306/.360 with 20 GIDPs in 333 ABs is good.

So he's not good, but he can be useful, and that's fine. I suspect the .500+ BABIP will not hold up, however.

Yeah I need to cool my jets a little. But it does strike me as weird that he's never been at least a utility guy.

Valdez is a good defender who makes solid contact, which means he's a somewhat useful player

Occasionally, solid contact = bloop hits, occasionally solid contact = GIDP

It's not the worst thing in the world to have him filling in
