it is pretty awesome that the phils clinched last night allowing us to watch Ken Burns tonight. of course the post clinch games are usually a pretty fun affair. Maybe Bockock will hit his first HR, get the silent treatment then get traded for CLIFF LEE

How confident am in the guys that the Astros would be going to war with? What makes me the uneasiest is not that I doubt Wallace, Castro, Paulino, Norris, Happ, and Johnson going forward. My unease comes from the fact that I don't feel either way.

That was a great series of transactions, wasn't it?

So Cargo was traded from Arizona along with Chris Carter (obtained from the White Sox for Carlos Quenton) and other guys for Dan Haren.

Arizona eventually traded Haren for Joe Saunders and some minor leaguers.

Oakland traded Cargo and Street for Holliday.

Holliday was traded for Brett Wallace.

Wallace was traded for Michael Taylor (who was part of the Halladay deal).

Wallace was then traded for Gose (who was part of the Oswalt deal).

So what you are saying is Oakland ultimately flipped Haren (or CarGo, if you prefer) for a guy who had a .740 OPS in a hitter's league this year at age 24?

Ouch.

I don't think anyone has mentioned this, but the new Rangers deal probably means CLIFF LEE will be a Rangers for next 6 or 7 seasons.

Edit: Damn, bleh mentioned it the next post.

I think it's hilarious how much of the general population still think the Twins have no chance in the AL. Even the people up here are saying the Twins barely have a shot.

Thurston OR should get a minor league franchise just so they can name it the "Howells".
