The euphoria of womping truly sad baseball teams has worn off. Now, we confront the possibility that the Phils might actually have a few holes.

Here's how I see it--until the rotation issues get straightened out, the Phils will have to hope Kendrick isn't quite as shitty as he seems, they can keep scoring 8 or so runs a game, Cole returns to 08 form, and Happ is exactly what they say he is--a little sore, not injured.

4/5ths of the rotation either injured or of questionable effectiveness. Not good.

and they have little/no depth. Blanton comes back and replaces Kendrick. Moyer probably stays in the rotation until at least June. If Happ has a serious problem I guess Figgy goes in for him. The fact that Happ has previous elbow issues is not good. Lack of velocity + lack of control + forearm discomfort frequently equals UCL problem also. I hope Pedro is staying in shape.

looking more and more like they're going to have to get hamels back in form AND get blanton back AND sign pedro. sheesh, a pretty strong looking rotation sure unraveled in a hurry.
weirdly, it would have been about the same if we had kept lee.
4/5 of the dream rotation we thought we had for a few moments after the halladay trade is injured/struggling at the the moment.

Hamels is healthy and solid. We'll win most of his starts.

There was more bad news on the Phillies' starting-pitching front Saturday – and that was before Jamie Moyer was tagged for five first-inning runs in a 5-1 loss to the Florida Marlins.

CSNPhilly.com learned that J.A. Happ is experiencing discomfort in his left forearm and the condition could jeopardize his next start, which is scheduled for Wednesday in Atlanta.

Ugh. At least it'd be a good excuse for why he stinks. Sorry TheDude24 for me being a negadelphian.

It's only a matter of time now, Moz.

Those of you with "the sky is falling" syndrome about the rotation must not have followed baseball last year. The rotation last year was pitiful for nearly two months straight at the beginning of the season.

Here were the starters' ERAs when Myers started his final game last year on May 27:

Myers 4.66
Blanton 6.14
Hamels 4.68
Moyer 7.42
Chan Ho 7.08 when he left the rotation

The level of cap tipping from Phillies starters right now is FAR from championship caliber. Borderline disgraceful
