Random baseball thoughts

Two different times in my own pedestrian baseball career I experienced this -- once when I got on a new team that for some reason put me in CF, and once when my high school team had an injury and the manager moved me from eighth to second in the lineup. Both times I performed dramatically better right away and for the rest of the season.

who guessed Victorino would have a higher OBP and SLG than Wertz 70 games in?
I know what you're asking yourself and the answer is yes. I have a nick name for my penis. Its called the Octagon, but I also nick named my testes - my left one is James Westfall and my right one is Doctor Kenneth Noisewater.

Last night was only the 3rd time in the last 20 years that the Mets and Yankees were shut out on the same day...

39 2Bs and 44 HRs in 927 AB as a Phillie

I saw the Braves' Hanson last night briefly on MLB Network highlight show. That cat has a funny looking motion and delivery.

J. A. Happ has struck out 11 and walked 14 in his last three starts (17 IP).

Other than David Wright, Gary Sheffield is the only Met not on the DL who is hitting much at all. Well, I guess Santos is doing OK.

The Phils are only allowing .4 runs per game more than the league average (only .35 more than the Mets. Meanwhile, they are scoring .89 more runs than the league and .80 more than the Mets. Bandbox!!!!

That's huge. I hope that gets the ball rolling on getting rid of the whole territory structure, I'd drop my cable television if I could watch the Phils in market online.

Ichiro had a stretch in 2004 where he batted .461 over a 58 game stretch with 118 hits. That's ridiculous.

Are you saying the fake called shot/bunt for a hit isn't a good play?

You know what the above is? The On Base Percentages for the 3-8 hitters in the Mariners lineup last night.

Yet this club is 37-36 and only 3.5 games behind the Rangers in the AL West.

I guess it's because they play the American League style.

Any chance Wakefield makes the All-Star team for the first time in his career?

amazing that the only guy on that list with the OBP over .300 has a batting avg of .222, the infamous ken griffey jr

bedard, felix hernan and washburn have carried that team
