Hard to get too up for a game you're overwhelmingly likely to lose. Gerrard is out, which I guess is good. With no game this weekend, he can be fully fit for Arsenal next week.

Also, on the PFA awards, how do they vote on these? United has let in the same number of goals as Liverpool, and one more than Chelsea, but you don't see either of their back fours or goalies up for player of the year.

Creditors to Texas financier Tom Hicks's Hicks Sports Group have declared the company in default, a measure that could eventually dislodge the Texas Rangers baseball club and Dallas Stars hockey franchise from his control.

To which The New York Times adds, for those without Journal access: "The Rangers baseball team and the Stars hockey team are now unable to pay both their operating expenses and their debt service, the newspaper said."

Yeah, there was something a few weeks back about him deciding to stop making payments so he could get a new payment schedule or something. They need to sell the club.

Liverpool off to a great start here. I think at this rate, the ball might make it into the Chelsea box before halftime once.

Aurelio scored on a free kick from a bit out. Cech was way out of position expecting the ball to be played in for a header, and Fabio snuck it inside the post.

Then a few minutes later we got a penalty when Ivanovic dragged someone down on a free kick. One of those things you hardly ever see called, but it was pretty damn blatant, and this Spanish ref has been calling everything. Xabi buried the penalty.

Chelsea look shit and are ripe for the taking. They already switched off Kalou for Anelka. It's a shame Liverpool couldn't take advantage of a few pretty good opportunities before the half to get the third and take the lead though cause halftime can only do Chelsea good right now.

Gerrard isn't even on the bench, so Torres or someone is going to have to step up to grab the winner.
