Bobby Abreu was a Ray, then a Phillie.

Kevin Stocker was a Phillie, then a Ray.

Travis Lee was a Phillie, then a Ray.
However, neither team has any current castoffs.

Evan Longoria will be a Phillie. Until then hate him.

He's signed until 2013, with team options for 2014, 2015, and 2016. But I guess he could be a Phillies after the age of 30, when he'll demand somewhere around $40 million per year
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

I should have been clearer--I meant the current rosters, not all time. I know some reserve infielders and back-of-the-bullpen scrub arms have worn both uniforms, and also Travis Lee.

Nice, a World Series championship on my birthday. That would be a pretty good day.

I always liked Altman's Pretzel Logic column in City Paper but, yeah, this is pretty much by rote.

I think that's correct. The only switchover is Chuck Lamarr (Phils; head of pro scouting, I believe). Advantage Phils :) !

Chuck LaMar used to be the Tampa GM and signed and developed a good number of those players.

Scott Miller CBS Sportsline:
The television suits might blanch at the prospect of a Philadelphia-Tampa Bay World Series, but if you like your baseball without regard to ratings, high-maintenance sluggers and curses, this could be great fun. The Phillies and Rays in one sense are mirror images of each other, stocking deep lineups, strong rotations and solid bullpens. Both Citizens Bank Park and Tropicana Field are hitters' paradises, Philly's den in a Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley and Pat Burrell rake sort of way, the Rays' in an arena baseball sort of way. Both managers, Philadelphia's Charlie Manuel and Tampa Bay's Joe Maddon, are classic, non-conformist types who manage by gut and instinct and don't always adhere to the same, expected cookie-cutter patterns for making moves. Both teams are underdogs, thus creating the dilemma that SOMEBODY must emerge as a favorite. Philadelphia has only five World Series appearances on its resume in 100-plus years and has won only once. Not only has Tampa Bay never played in a World Series, the Rays had never even won more than 70 games in a season until this year. Because the Rays are nearly unbeatable at home -- as Boston learned -- home-field advantage will play big in this series. So, too, I think, will Philadelphia's week-long layoff. When they step onto the field for Game 1, the Phillies will not have played in a full week. A similar layoff did not serve Colorado well last year, nor Detroit in 2006.

didn't Boston win 2 games in Tampa?

I think CHarlie is going to have his guys peaking mentally in a little more than 48 hours. We are going to see Jimmy become an offensive machine. Same with Utley, Howard, Burrell, Victorino, Werth, Ruiz, Dobbs, Feliz, Coste, Stairs, Bruntlett, and Taguchi. Jenkins might be a little off though.

The pitching is going to be solid too.

"Can't lose: Obama backs Rays, Phillies"

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1008/14750.html

Barack Obama, campaigning in the key swing state of Florida, is seeking to capitalize on the excitement over the World Series-bound Tampa Bay Rays, telling a Tampa crowd he was “showing some love for the Rays,” several members of which joined him onstage.

Only problem?

Obama, a self-avowed Chicago White Sox fan, declared his allegiance earlier this month for the Rays’ National League opponent in baseball’s championship, the Philadelphia Phillies.

firstly, he's a politician.

secondly, he can still root for the phillies and show the rays some love. he's not a phillies fan, and is there anyone that can actually say that they hate the rays.

Oh. I'm replying to a Steagles post. Um. OK.
