Dude, learn to love life. It's so much better that way. Jesus.

I was getting pissed off the whole time over how much it seemed like a Dodgers home game. I hated it. screw the both of them.

That was definitely the worst. He even said it twice and Buck said nothing.

* McCarver and Buck are not Baseball Prospectus analysts. They aren't sitting there with multitudes of stat sheets. Most of America/the world doesn't think about baseball like people at BP, or most of the people here.
* The point of the telecast, from Fox's perspective, is just to make it folksy and fun to watch. Thats the only reason McCarver has his job.
* McCarver says dumb things, but hes just shooting from the hip, he's not sitting there looking things up. He's trying to stay with the flow of the game.
* Buck just lets McCarver ramble. I've heard him contradict him a few times, but not much. He lets him go. McCarver is an old school player, Buck never played the game and grew up with a father who was a legendary announcer. He's old school too, to a lesser degree, and just lets McCarver spin a yarn about something irrelevant because he probably thinks most people like those nuggets. I'm sure Fox feels that way too.
* If you watch these games to get any kind of analysis, I feel bad for you. Buck's voice isn't distracting. That's really all that you can ask for.
* The bias is obvious, but its not an anti-Phillies bias, its a bias for the big storylines, because thats what grabs ratings. No one hates the Phillies. But the storylines from a Red Sox/Dodgers WS would obviously provide much more fodder for the likes of ESPN/FOX/TBS/whatever other outlet.
Who really cares? Just watch the games. Expecting these guys to be any different from the 99% of announcers who have no clue is foolish

True. I think I posted something earlier about most of the "pundits" and "experts" hoping for a Sox/Dodgers WS. The "Manny Past / Manny Present" storyline plays well on a national level, thus higher ratings, thus more ad revenues. But there are storylines that can be played for any other matchup. Phils/Sox (Tito!). Any Rays matchup ("zOMG!!! The first year they don't finish in last place, they're in the frickin World Series!")
My opinion is... for a national broadcast by a national network, the game broadcasters should be neutral and not leave the impression of having a preference. Who cares if the talking head "pundits", "analysts" and "experts" have a biased agenda, the national game broadcasters shouldn't (if they wish to maintain some level of integrity).

I doubt they care about that. People are gonna watch the games no matter what. Supply/demand
