Blanton to the Phillies?

There are deals I'd make for him--something like Castro, Carpenter and Harman--but nothing I imagine would be acceptable to the A's.

but...the A's are first in DER, the Phillies are 12th....

While Burnett is preferred...I would not mind Blanton, provided the Outman's and the Carrasco's stay put.

Blanton will start Tuesday vs the Mets. I want Burnett, but we will get fatty Blanton.

Blanton concerns me because he seems to benefit greatly from his home park. Over his career he has been consistent in this. Oakland's park has a huge foul territory which results in many more outs on popups that go out of play most everywhere else.

Oakland's home park combined wiht their MLB leading defense would help a guy like Blanton more than many others I'd guess. The A's seem to understand this too as he has 14 starts at home and only 6 on the road this season. That seems kinda amazing doesn't it?

Oh, the A's have played 55 at home and only 40 on the road.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

Joe Blanton's career v. Mets

15 IP, 8 H, 1, 10K, 0.00 ERA

Yeah, and we were re-arranging our rotation for Eaton to face the Mets before too. Freaking sample size.
