The key is going to be how he reacts after his first blown save, assuming he blows a save this year. If he bounces back and the stuff is still dominant, he'd be worth the money. His slider is unhittable, and his velo is back in the 94-97 range.
3 years/$37.5M (2009-11), plus 2012 club option

I have a feeling that people will feel about him how they felt about Gordon this season. Lidge will be a lot more expensive than the guys they traded and is a free agent at the end of the year.
Brunlett is arbitration eligible. With his production I'd non-tender the guy. Does Gillick really want to go to arbitration with him?
Geary isn't a loss. I felt he was a non-tender. Bourn was pretty much the Phillies only Major League tradeable asset. I don't mind dealing him but I think they could have gotten more. The guy came on before his injury and he's been mentioned as being coveted.
I'm probably the only one who thought Costanzo would be a player. He's improved every year and really lit it up in the second half of the season. Even if the Phillies didn't like his defense he was pretty much their other tradeable asset. What do they have left to deal? Why do the Phillies always give away quality minor leaguers but never get any?
Ed Wade saved money and got three guys he drafted. I have a hard time believing he got the better of Pat, because if Wade is really smarter than Gillick it's pretty hopeless.
