the mets are so ridiculously lucky. freakish plays like this prolly won them at least 4-5 games last year. f'ing endy chavez.

And then look at this year already.

"Hey, at least their pitching will stink"

Nope, John Maine is incredible and Oliver Perez has put together 2 Cy Young quality starts. They are so lucky. It'll bite them sooner or later, right?

Thats what I keep telling myself before I go to sleep at night.....

Wags threw 40 pitches tonight. Unfortunately, it's warm here...

Man, I really hoped you were kidding.

Braves won too. It's not going to be easy catching up with those teams; Phils will have to directly apply ass-kickings.

FWIW, I don't think the Mets' rotation is really as good as it's looked so far (though it's also not nearly as bad as we might have hoped for two months ago). El Duque has been brilliant, but he hasn't thrown more than 162 innings since 2000. He'll either pumpkinize, get hurt, or both, and probably sooner rather than later. Similiarly, Maine has been tremendous, but I can't believe he's going to stay this good.

Then again, I do think Perez has the talent to be great all year, and at some point they'll probably get Pedro back. They're no joke.

Mets ranked #1 in ERA and #16 in FIP going into tonight....seems pretty much impossible to me for that to happen, but it has.

vin scully just told an excellent tale of how matt morris met his wife. he was in the bullpen for the cards during a game @ chicago and she was sitting in the stands lookin foxy so he just started spitting game. at the end of the game he gave her a note with his number saying they should go out sometime, but he didn't know when because his team was going to the playoffs and the cubbies were not. she did call him and yada yada yada they've been married for a few years now.

Rocks up 9-0 over the Mets in the 4th. Pelfrey gave up 8h and 6 ER in 3.0 IP....its about time someone shelled one of their back of the rotation guys.

Since the start of 2003, the Rockies have only won 1 time in the last 16 at Shea

Bob Wickman in with bases juiced and nobody out. Should be 2 runs there, but knowing the Braves' luck...
