John Maine, Hamels' opponent when he gave up the back-to-back-to-backers last week, just gave up his own trifecta.

What's best about it, however, is that it was to the Dodgers' 7-8-9 hitters, including pitcher Kuo, who did just as exaggerated a bat flip as Lo Duca.

I wonder how many Mets fans want to throw at Kuo.

Mets announcer: It's never right to flip the bat like that, you're just out there showing the guy up... ... Maine should really aim to make Kuo's jersey dirty here...

When Paul Lo Duca does it it's okay though, right?

Cubs sink to a new low.

Despite confusion and long lines at the Wrigley Field ticket windows for Monday night's makeup game against the Astros, Cubs officials said fans had been told their original tickets could not be used.

"We tried to make it clear the moment the [April 11] game was snowed out, those tickets were not good for June 11," said Mark McGuire, the Cubs' executive vice president for business operations.

"We tried to notify everybody who had [original] tickets, but if they bought them from a scalper or broker [they were impossible to contact.]"

Tickets for the June 11 game were priced higher because June dates are considered "premium" days. That angered some fans who showed up with tickets that were no longer valid.

"After a rainout, season ticket-holders got a whole new set of tickets," said Frank Maloney, director of ticket operations. "The problem is a lot of season ticket-holders gave or sold their tickets to other people."

Wait a minute, if a game is rained out (or in this case snowed out) I thought it was an MLB rule for those tickets to be good for the make-up or another game. Not a Cubs rule, a league-wide MLB rule. This really doesn't sound right or fair for that matter. The game wasn't played, so the people who had tickets have to eat the money? How is that fair at all?

I believe they could have gotten a refund. But essentially the Cubs got more revenue for the game because they charged their "June" prices for an April game. And there were a ton of people down there on Monday that thought their original tickets would get them into the game.

Very Phillies-esque. This 'premium game' idea has been horrible from its inception. Charging more based on the opponent or date/time of game- it's a nightmare.

Incentives for 'non-premium' games should be reflected inside the stadium, not in the ticket price. Things like dollar dog days, two-for-one sodas, even merchandise discounts.

To be fair, I see this in most every organization. People sitting around a table are usually none too quick to object to an idea that purports to increase the bottom line, even if they know the potential problems and consequences.

I was watching the Mets/Dodgers game last night and the Mets broadcast crew was pointing out in the OF bleachers for $35 ticket you got all you can eat at the consessions (no beer) the Mets announcer who was out there said it was great, no lines for anything since there was no cash, and the food was good.

Any chance they'd do this at CBP?

It makes sense I'm thinking... I guess it depends on the contracts the team has with the consession stands, but I would think it would encourage more people to go, especially families since you know ahead of time what your total cost would be to catch a game.

Not to mention fatties will love it, and we could always use more hi-freakin-larious crowd shots of fatsos dancing awkwardly to hip-hop songs.
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

I was just out at Dodger Stadium last Sunday. The reason this is possible at Dodger Stadium is that the RF bleachers are separated from the rest of the stands. Different concession stands, so no one from other seats wanders over.

Schilling getting roughed up by Colorado while the Yankees are on their way to their 8th win in a row. Arizona losing = good for the Phillies
