I used to get annoyed when people wouldn't quit when they were down 7 or so points, but now I just figure winning is more fun than losing so if you want me to slowly dismember you, ok

No what annoys me is when people offer you draws in that situation, Yahoo chess used to have this glitch where if you kept clicking "offer draw" your opponent couldn't make a move and would time out

Assuming you're white, you're kinda fucked. Bishop to E4 captures the pawn and the knight.

question re: chess etiquette

we've both made the same move 4 times now, him most recently. I could move differently, but as soon as I do that I loose my horse. what should I do?

Offer a draw. If he doesn't take it, he's a dick. I actually thought it would automatically be a draw if the moves were repeated three times apiece.

Well, you're definitely not going to give up a piece just because he wants you to.

if the positions have been the same three times in a row, you don't need to even offer the draw, you can just claim it

yea people who refuse draws are dicks. That said, I've played out some draw-ish games mostly because my end game sucks and I want practice.

Can someone tell me why white doesn't play 13 Qxg7?

I'm nowhere near an expert so take this with a grain of salt. If white captures g7, then black moves Rg8, basically then owning the g file. Compounding the problem would be the already existing pressure on g2 checkmate. White would have to go on the defensive for the remainder of the game.

I have 4 pawns, a bishop & rook. He has one pawn and a bishop. He offers a draw. Am I a dick for declining?
