Chess

Chess is my daughter's favorite board game. She was skyping to the in-laws about it and she seems to understand some of how different pieces move and the main object, as well as it's ok to lose some pieces because the big goal is to get the king.

Incidentally, this isn't much less than i know.

The 9th season of TCEC just started an hour ago. The live games are strangely addictive. I recommend changing the board theme.

made friends with a dude at a bar who invited me to come smoke a bowl at his spot. walk in and hes got a tournament style chess board on his coffee table, complete with an old school clock. He tells me hes a 2500 ranking and has played in Iceland tournaments. He let me win our first game then creamed me in a 2 minute and 5 minute game. he was pretty helpful though, we went back to different moves during the game and he showed me the mistakes i made and told me what the best move was for each scenario.

That actually sounds really fun. I, on the other hand, just lost 80 points on my rating in one night.

I do not know enough about the intricacies of chess to know whether this is genuine or not, but I will "check" it out nonetheless!

I am very awful at this game and it discourages me. Maybe I should just stick to Panda Pop. :(
