I stopped getting notifications about moves, moves often wouldn't register so I'd time out, it would just get stuck load after making a move. like a hundred times
could be because my phone is old but they should make an app that still works with three year old phones
watched a video on the Caro Kahn defense saturday afternoon just illustrating the main line and some variants and decided id start practicing it in my 10 minute games. so far ive been winning every time as black with it. i really like it because if youre a player who's always doing 1. e4 and expecting an e5 in return, 1. ... c6 really throws you off and fucks with the normal pawn structure. Meanwhile development and pawn structure for black is very effective and white is still just like "huh?"
granted im still playing noobs in blitz since my rating is so crappy, but still

yo, i hate anyone who plays white with 1.e4 2. Bc4, but I've been doing it a lot? :/ I keep hoping someone falls for scholar's mate. Pretty disrespectful

Anybody know of a good chess teaching type of game? My son likes chess. His best friend is really good at it. My wife and I, while we know how the pieces move, are not in a position to be able to play well/consistantly enough to help him learn.
Was thinking about getting him this for Channukah...
To be honest, I'm not sure that would help your son become a better player. If I'm understanding that correctly, you just pick a card to determine which piece you move? What if that piece can't move? I guess people are forced to be more creative with other pieces on the board and moves they may not see immediately. But when you play a game of chess, you're usually looking a few moves down the road. This game doesn't seem to allow for any type of long term strategy.
I think he would better off watching chess openings and trying to understand certain defenses and attacks, depending on his age.
