Two of the most recent 1A's were very powerful (the Trayvon Martin and Emmett Till ones).

The Daily really is fucking outstanding. It's what I wish NPR was for me during the morning drive.

Nevermind, just found the feed. How had I missed this until now?

Too many good pods, not enough time.

I didn't know of The Daily either. I'm glad I can listen to my headphones at work, because I would never be able to catch up just by listening to them on my commute.

The Washington Post has one called "Can He Do That?" It's a weekly pod discussing the legal framework for Trump's initiatives. It's brand-new (obv), but the first one was pretty good.

Also on the local tip I'm really enjoying Turron Davenport from Bleeding Green Nation

This thread is too long to search all the way through, but someone must have mentioned "Stuff You Should Know," right?

Why do podcast hosts spend so much time telling people who are listening to their podcast how they can listen to the podcast

Because podcasts don't have advertising budgets and the podcast itself is still the most likely way for a person who doesn't know how to find it to hear about it.

Yea, you never know when some poor sap is stuck in a carpool or a friend forces them to listen to a podcast.

They might have stumbled upon a version on the website.

And more often, they're encouraging people to rate them on iTunes et al., not merely subscribe.
