I'm only halfway through after a week of putting it on whenever I walk anywhere

I think it's great so far, though

The Washington Post's Presidential podcast has been really good. 45 mins to an hour each week on a former Presidents. John Tyler, who died in 1862 has two living grandchildren that were on the podcast. Neat shit.

Man last week's Radiolab (Playing God) was brutal.

I mean it was good, but a tough listen.

Yeah, I listened to it for my drive to the tailgate and back. There's a reason he compares them to audiobooks.

feel like my beef with hardcore history is they are so detailed and nuanced and his explanations are so long, that its hard to find good points to pause and then pick the story back up

I don't get why the Birts push their podcasts to at least four different feeds. Especially since one is called "The Official Eagles Podcast Channel." Gotta do a better job there.

Anyway, the Eagles Insider Pod #7 interview with Jordan Matthews was really good.

TAL is peak TAL this week. First 30 minutes is just japanese people talking/crying in a phone booth to lost loved ones from the Tsunami. This isn't what we need until November 8th, Ira.

I mean it's good but 'peak' can now be exchangeable for super stereotypical.

I don't think I've actually listened to a TAL episode in 6 months. Even if I don't delete it immediately on Monday morning, I never get around to listening to it and delete it after a week or two.

It's not like it's bad or anything. I suspect that you are just replacing with politics podcasts and that might change after November...

The politics part is definitely true, but I always listen to at least one politics pod a week. It's more that it's all seemed formulaic to me, or maybe just that the TAL design has been copied by so many other pods now.

Listened to the Jon gabrus pod a bit bc I liked his appearances on CBB. Very repetitive after a while but the ones about action movies (predator, commando, bloods port, hard to kill) and Banshee are good for fans of those shows like myself

Marshall Harris and Amy Fadool have a new podcast called Measured Takes. I'll see if it's worth it.

the new Ringer NBA Show guy Chris Vernon is pretty good. I'm sure his habit of getting all incredulous and valuing name recognition over logic will annoy me when the Sixers come up, but it's been pretty funny, especially the bit about why he quite watching GoT a few pods ago
