I had a bad impression of Norton (Lucky Louie?) but he's really funny

Simmons' new HBO podcast to be titled The Bill Simmons Podcast, launching October 1st. You can subscribe on iTunes or whatever, and there's a 2 minute teaser from Cousin Sal in his Simmons voice (I guess because Simmons is still under contract and can't do it himself).

any one checking out "limetown?" fictional account of this town that just up and vanished. has a creepy sci fi, mystery vibe to it. pretty good. the audio feels a tad too polished for what they are going for but the episodes are short and enjoyable (~25 mins).

I will now. Thanks for the tip. I love fictional podcasts.

On a similar note, I'm really excited that they're starting to design a sequel/spinoff of the amazing "We're Alive" series. If you haven't listened to that, make sure you do. There's a billion episodes, so its a long-term commitment but totally worth it. It's what I wish the Walking Dead actually was.

only two episodes up so far. it is supposed to be 7. long time between each episode too, which is frustrating.

I tried but I couldn't get into it. It was like too perfectly polished or something

Also the woman's voice drove me a little nuts for some reason
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

Bill Simmons podcasts are live if you want to hear some stupid, insane theories about deflategate.

Yeah, Tom Brady being too busy playing the Colts to direct the ball boys' shenanigans was ... something.

Having said that, nice to have him and Sal back

I liked the part where he said Brady couldn't have been lying because he said it in court and he would get in a lot of trouble for lying there.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

Well, there's some validity there. He's relying on two random dudes--who never testified under oath--not flipping on him. That's a huge (and totally unnecessary) risk to take for someone in his position.

Besides, the key legal issue was Goodell's inability to actually assess a suspension under the CBA terms for this type of infraction. The actual complicity was basically irrelevant.

Good Simmons pod with Klosterman yesterday. Really good having Bill back, other than Joe House imo

Definitely, although I guess they could resurrect it (maybe without Sharp) on Simmons' feed. Also my TV and food news pods Juliet did, and Hollywood Prospectus. Rough week friends

Juliet does that thing where her voice rises at the end of sentences?, which is annoying, but she knows her stuff and has good chemistry with Chris. I miss the old intro but you can't have everything
