Friday's question was the hardest one I can remember. The category was U.S. Presidents. The question was something like "When this president wanted to talk to his wife, and didn't want anyone else to understand the conversation, they spoke to each other in Chinese."

I got the question wrong, and so did both contestants (there were only two).

Answer:
Who was Herbert Hoover
"Am I adorable?"
"You're like a penguin in an indie band."

I thought last Wednesday's question was really easy. I got it right and so did both of my parents (who generally stink at final Jeopardy), but all three contestants got it wrong. The question was:

"This 2004 movie, which was set in ancient times, was the highest grossing R rated movie in history."

What was The Passion of the Christ?
"Am I adorable?"
"You're like a penguin in an indie band."

Another one from last week, but I forget which day:

He was the 118th person to cross the Atlantic Ocean.

Who was Charles Lindbergh?

Darn it, I forgot to write the answer in the form of a question.

The word "airplane" needs to be in there somewhere, for this to make any sense.

The category was Aviation History. I probably should have included that...

Fascinating. I did a paper or two, in long-ago undergrad days, in which this prez figured, and never came across that tidbit.

I believe he & Jimmuh Carter are the only 2 prezzes trained as engineers
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

Yesterday's question:

This history altering event was first announced in a Barcelona ale house in April 1493.

Columbus' discovery of the New World

I thought this was the easiest question of all time, but one of the contestants got it wrong.
"Am I adorable?"
"You're like a penguin in an indie band."

It should have been easy, but I got it wrong. I guessed Treaty of Tordesillas, which divided the new world between spain and Portugal. Now that I think of it, there's no way the Pope would have made an announcement in an ale house.

I don't know why it took a year.

I mean he could have just called or sent a text message or something.
