Yeah, if it weren't for this interview, it never would have occurred to me there was a problem.

Hmmph. I never would have picked up on the actor's not meshing well. I thought she was perfect in that role and a great counterpoint to George. I mean, there were SOOO many random characters they interacted with. She started off semi corporate for NBC then there was the ep where she said she need to know his 'pin number' and 'tell him everything' - I don't know - it always made sense to me. He was an ahole and she was odd in a way and it just worked because that was Seinfeld. She had those dolls. She wasn't normal and he was weird. She was weird too. I liked how they killed her off, I didn't miss her - none of them could hold on to a relationship and having one of them be married wouldn't really have worked. I thought she was fine in the role and find that they killed her off. It kind of feels like a dis to the actress to air all that now in the media? Why go there... who cares. They're all rich and famous and it's 20 years ago.

BigEd76 wrote:Jason finally revealed on Stern's show that they killed off Susan because the actress didn't have chemistry with him, Julia or Jerry

"I love her. She's a terrific girl. I love her. I couldn't figure out how to play off of her. Her instincts for doing a scene, where the comedy was, and mine, were always misfiring. And she would do something and I would go, okay, I see what she's gonna do, I'm gonna adjust to her. And then I would adjust. And then it would change!

"So I had done three episodes with her and Larry calls me up at the beginning of the season and says, 'Good news! I got a great arc for you this season. You're gonna get engaged!' I said, 'oh it's great, who do I get engaged to?' He said, 'Susan.' And I went, 'oh great, who's playing George?' Cause it was such a disaster.

"What Heidi brought to the character is we could do the most horrible things to her, and the audience was still on my side. ...She wasn't playing a bitchy character or anything, but they knew it wasn't a good fit. ...I kept saying, 'I'm going out of my mind you guys, you're killing me. I can't understand how to play off of this girl. I'm sure that the stuff is not working, it can't be!'...I was the only actor doing scenes with her! And then finally -- they didn't know how the season was gonna end, was George gonna marry her? Was she gonna leave him? What was gonna happen? So finally they do an episode where Elaine and Jerry have a lot of material with her. They do the week...and they go, you know what? It's #$!&@ impossible. It's impossible.' And Julia actually said, 'I know, it's just, don't you wanna just kill her?' And Larry went, 'kebang!'

"But she is...Heidi is the sweetest...it was just the way I come at stuff and the way she came at stuff is just..."

George has clarified and apologized. I think the latter part of that quote ("don't you wanna just kill her?") is directed at Susan, not the actress.

Her parents were wonderfully awful, and I loved the plotline with George heading her foundation.

I have an autistic kid at church who relentlessly quotes Seinfeld. Most don't get it but I do. He started doing the Jerkstore routine but I had to cut him off before he got to the I had sex with your wife part.

Not sure why mistakes like this annoy me (I guess because like some of you, I've seen the episodes a million times) but they do:

In Hatcher's first episode, the focus is on her breasts. With Elaine questioning whether they are natural or man-made, she stages an "accidental" stumble in the sauna to see if she can discover the truth.

She didn't stage shit. That's what Hatcher's character thinks Jerry and Elaine did.

From here which talks about Jason Alexander kinda retracting his statement about the actress who played Susan and also lists a bunch of people up top who debuted on Seinfeld.

In one episode, Jerry mentions "he never had a good pickle." How would he know that? Maybe he doesn't like pickles.
