already requested my mail in ballot. will mail back or drop off...not sure what philly has planned yet.

awesome. been trying to get some pals to update registration/get a plan that need a bit more motivation. had one update his this week to his current address and he is making sure his wife does the same.

need to get my brother and his fiance to do the same.

We all need to do this. Not CB's family, but our own.

Unless they are like my SIL, who loves Trump more than her family.

btw, if somerset county is any indication, we are in for a fight. Trump signs everywhere and I have yet to see a single Biden sign.

somerset PA? it was 76/20 Trump in 2016 so that is to be expected.

Considering there were no sports on last night, these numbers can't make Trump too happy...

“About 21.6 million viewers watched coverage of Trump’s RNC address across nine cable and broadcast networks, down from 23.6 million viewers who watched Biden’s DNC address on the same nine networks.”
“The totals may fluctuate slightly when final numbers are released later in the day, but Biden clearly edged out Trump.”
“The Democratic convention was also higher-rated than the Republican convention overall when the audience for all four days is tallied up.”

Pretty sure the DNC beat the RNC in 2016 significantly as well.

Anything close to parity is a win for Trump. 538 has him up to 31% btw.

I think there could be lots of problems in cities on election day, but for people outside the city, I'm right with you. Actually, if I was in the city, I would try to drop off my ballot by myself. I wouldn't rely on the PO right now.

I could see a lot of big companies giving people the day off to vote.

I know it's Trump country, but I haven't seen a single Biden sign or bumper sticker. It could be a sign of voter enthusiasm. Or maybe all the Biden signs are being stolen. That repeatedly happened 4 years ago to my inlaws who live about 45 minutes from here

I signed up for an absentee ballot because I expected to be overseas. I got two emails a few days ago about my ballot. I think the first one is informative and the second is the actual ballot. Anyone have any experience with this? I think I'm going to have to go to a library to use a printer and then I'm supposed to mail it.

Little unnerving see Joe go from -160 to -115 in betting odds over the past four weeks.

Why is this happening?

Trump’s gonna win again.

He may steal it, but there is no way in hell he will win a fair election.

I still think Joe has a 3 in 4 shot. Plus, Trump has another two months to continue fucking up.

Before COVID, the conditions on the ground all but assured a Trump re-election.

All he needs is enough going right to be able to plausibly say we’ve turned a corner. Then it’s those lousy Democrats want to take away your guns defund the police and let the coloreds take your jobs and your grandchildren’s jobs. White people will vote their terrified fear every single fucking time.

I don’t trust any white man over 43 because I am 42, present company excepted.

White people don’t always vote their terrified fear.

See: 2008 and 2012

I think you are being a tad fatalistic. Biden is still the odds on favorite and Biden is most decidedly not Hillary Clinton.

I continue to think polls are over compensating for what occurred in 2016.

I think this is correct. And a lot of swing states are going to see covid get a lot worse in the weeks to cone with schools and colleges opening.

Betting markets in politics don't have enough $$ in them to ever really make sense, and most places have pretty low limits

Also if you look at the state by state stuff on most online books, they point more strongly to Biden winning, just the national leaning toward Trump or close.

For example on Bovada, Biden is -120 to win the electoral college, but he's -130 to win Arizona, -125 to win Florida, -180 to win Pennsylvania, and -145 to win Wisconsin. He can't be more likely to win each of those states than he is to win the electoral college.
