The party is a big tent and they are trying to appeal to everyone. Don't see much harm in it, it may actually help.

Thought that was pretty clunky. Some good people in there that just were part of this weird fast cut montage. Meh.

I think they should have had that lead into an actual keynote by Stacey Abrams.

Also Sally Yates and Elizabeth Warren have the same speaking cadence.

I actually love this roll call, it's better than the in arena one.

The roll call bored me. The destruction of the Red Sox was more engaging, but I saw Delaware pass (do they then get last say?), and caught a guy in North Dakota say he is a Harvard grad for some reason (looking for sympathy?).

Be curious to see what this bipartisan senate intel report really comes down to in this election cycle. Probably 10% of any one of those would do them any other political figures, but let’s face it there’s not a single thing on that list for that is shocking for him. Heck, at 10,000 feet it sounds basically like the Steele dossier has merit. Here is a good summary, sort of a TL;DR ; of the committees 1000 pages.

Well, DC managed to do the most DC thing ever and take down its electronic voter registration system because it is notoriously buggy. I get it, they had no time before a presidential election to address the problems and push a new version, they just needed to scrap it.

The nominee's home state goes last.

is it 'last' or just when they get to the point that their number of delegates puts the nominee over the top? Or are they one and the same and the stop the roll call once the nomination is secured?

They design it so that the home state is the one that puts the candidate over the top and officially secure the nomination. I believe they continue with the other states after that though.

Delaware was the last state to go last night. Guess they changed it up slightly. I think some island was the one that had him clear the threshold.

It's not like the roll call has ever been exciting, at least not since 1968.
