Most of that 9% will come home to Papa Trump.

Even if all of it did, he's still losing by 5. And as a general rule in politics, you don't usually expect undecideds to break for the incumbent.

He's in a spot where he needs to not only win over the vast majority of people not voting for either candidate, but also move people currently in Biden's camp to his. It's easier to get people to take one step than two.

All the while he's not changing a fucking thing.

Undecideds are also most likely to stay home. It's hard for me to imagine anyone still on the fence about Trump deciding to vote for him. Keep in mind, there just isn't nearly the animus towards Biden as there was towards Clinton. Quite the opposite--Biden's avuncular personality and his being "normal" are in my view strengths that nicely counter Trump's vulnerabilities.

I think a few Trump's attack ads on Biden's fitness hurt him to an extent with very dependable voters. Some seniors will see themselves in those ads.

I know you have to be super careful looking at sub group analysis, but some of those cross tabs are even more startling than the headline number--Biden has a lead among people with no college, tied with the "some college" group, and 65+, is only down 1 point among white people, leads huge with independents (Trump is only getting 29% with that group) and all that is with African Americans showing an undecided number of 13%--they are not going to break for Trump.

Donald coloring outside the lines yesterday in Arizona apparently went with that his underwhelming rally in Oklahoma was the best viewed Saturday night broadcast for Fox news ever. That's right baby, he's number one on a Saturday night on a news channel. I wonder what was number one in all of broadcast TV, if anybody even cares about Saturday nights.

That's a bit picky and misses the point. He could have done the right thing at any point when he was part of the administration.

I think I'd back Susan Rice as VP just so it could rule out her being Secretary of State.

so what's going to happen with that uneducated white group when Biden picks a black female running mate?

Maybe the black undecideds will break for Biden, but some of those other numbers could change for the worse.

Admittedly, a black female running mate is unprecedented, but I'm trying to remember when the selection of a VP candidate made a huge shift either way, and i'm including Thomas Eagleton. In fact I'm trying to even remember the last five losing VP candidates.

We are really fucked for a really long time

NEWS: Trump notches his 200th lifetime federal judge and fills the very last appeals court vacancy nationwide.

He's filled the nation’s appeals courts (mini Supreme Courts, if you will) with dozens of white men — and zero Black judges. https://t.co/OD2oOEX1FV
