I wonder what was really on the CD. Missile defense strategy? Blueprints to a working rocket?

Turns out it was an Elton John CD signed by Trump lol.

That what Trump said was on it, but he probably had state secrets embedded in the code, so Kim could pass them on to Putin. I mean, if I spent that much time and effort trying to get a copy of a CD to Kim, people might question what was on the CD, that's all.

Trump says the coronavirus is ‘dying out’ despite spike in cases

Link is to the Tampa NBC New Channel.

During an interview with Gray Television* Wednesday, Trump said he’s not worried about his upcoming rally in Oklahoma because the number of new cases is “very miniscule.”

*Seems like this is a group, like Sinclair (not sure about political leanings) with a good bit of southern coverage.

Sinclair is a bit to the right of Fox.

Sinclair is a problem because it produces counter programming to the nationals it affiliates. It is interesting in DC to trip over some oddball shows that seem super fringy. Saw one on WJLA one day that had me head snap with a 'fake news mainstream media' vibe since JLA is an ABC affiliate.

Some point out that Sinclair is only in like 3 of the top 10 media markets, but that presents a different issue of the propaganda it feeds these smaller markets.

Yeah they conceal their propaganda as the local news

It's incredibly concerning and very hard to counter

Yesterday they also announced a new headline news service to begin next year and compete with CNN.

And what makes it extra concerning is from Wikipedia

owns or operates 294 television stations across the United States in 89 markets ranging in size from as large as Washington, D.C. to as small as Ottumwa, Iowa–Kirksville, Missouri.

They own an average of 3 stations in the markets they are in. So they don’t just control the news from one local affiliate but many in a market.

SCOTUS delivers another blow to Donald. The attempt to end DACA was illegal. Roberts wrote the opinion, 5-4.

I am curious about this opinion. I do not like the idea of Executive Actions being permanent though in all candor I am not familiar with the arguments.

My GFs parent's Rabbi has a summer home next to John Roberts in Maine. They are friends and I think the story is that Roberts had a seizure and the rabbi gave him medical attention, saved his life kind of thing. There you go!

Could be wrong but my tl;dr understanding of the arguments and the opinion is that the conservative majority agreed that Trump can pretty much do what he wants with the program but, in the end, Roberts had enough humanity in him that he's trying to slow things down in order the mitigate the pain of dismantling the program.

When Trump threatened local military action it was heartening to see the military stand up to him. But if they should ever waver, the only thing standing between democracy and a dictatorship might just be John Roberts.
