VA State Police tweeted this out with a warning about open highways not being open race courses. Apparently they pulled over a string of 8 cars all going over 100. Most amazingly it would seem that these cars achieved proof of the Back to the Future theorem since this apparently happen Aug 4 2020 @0936 (not really, see below).

I've been on that stretch of Chainbridge... I have a hard time thinking someone could get that fast, but I guess I just have to try harder.

I forgot to slide in the hint before I posted. With no one on that part of the road it would be hard to get over 50, but that is not really the case...

Several of the makes and models of the cars pulled over Saturday night, including several motorcycles, a Honda Accord, a Chevy Camaro, and a Toyota Scion. Sure there is a 6 cylinder Accord, but getting a Sion up to that speed would be scary.

132 mph is crazy on any public road. The speed limiter on my bike is just about to kick in at that speed. Guess I really am getting old because I never thought twice about it in my youth.

In a worse way because normal is pretty bad. Don't know where to find you a pic. I only noticed while flipping around channels last night.

in your neck of the woods, back when you were a kid, probably more like teenager.... one of my friend's brothers was a statey stationed at the baracks off of the 33 and would routinely see mario hit a buck fitty in one of his Ferraris or Lamborghinis.

Jeez, I'm surprised your legs didn't fall off peddling that fast.

Maybe a Lambo. Don't remember a Ferrari ever. Before the Lambo it was always Lotus.

I am sure that this is on 95 and 495, maybe 66 or 28. All have plenty of room and are reasonably pretty straight. Now way back when with my little Celica I got it over 100 twice. First time I got a ticket, but the story was good enough that the officer gave me a lower speed with my promise that I would knock it the fuck off, and the other was a knuckle headed maneuver on 83 when a gust of wind hit my dumb ass and lifting the car shoving it over about a lane, mercifully the road was clear. That cured me of the need for speed. I can live at merely fast.

Was once a passenger in a late '80s Camry that got over 100 mph on Rt. 22 between the 4th St and 25th St exits in Easton. That stretch of road is not wide, not straight, and was not empty. Scared the shit out of me.

I don't think I've ever driven faster than about 85 myself.
