No mention of Ants on a Log? That is one of my go to snacks.

One of my breakfasts lately has been PB (or AB), banana and raisins (no bread).

Almond butter is great, but way too expensive.

Not really a fan of ants on a log. Except for the peanut butter of course. But you're right, another perfectly acceptable use for peanut butter.

Give her the cooked goose. What mom wouldn't appreciate a dinner cooked for her on Mother's Day?

Just get her some good takeout for lunch or dinner.

everyone and their mother is going to be doing that... those places are going to be an utter shit show to handle that type of business via carryout. best to treat her to some home cooked meal that you prepared. honestly, she should understand the circumstances this year too.

A towel makes an excellent gift.

A towel, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly because it has great practical value - you can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapours; you can sleep under it beneath the stars that shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a mini-raft down the slow heavy river Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (a mindbogglingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can’t see it, it can’t see you - daft as a brush, but very very ravenous); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.
More importantly, a towel has immense psychological value. For some reason, if a strag (strag: non-hitchhiker) discovers that a hitchhiker has his towel with him, he will automatically assume that he is also in the possession of a toothbrush, face flannel, soap, tin of biscuits, flask, compass, map, ball of string, gnat spray, wet-weather gear, space suit, etc etc. Furthermore, the strag will then happily lend the hitchhiker any of these or a dozen other items that the hitchhiker may accidentally have “lost”. What the strag will think is that any man who can hitch the length and breadth of the galaxy, rough it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through, and still know where his towel is is clearly a man to be reckoned with.
Hence a phrase which has passed into hitchhiking slang, as in “Hey you sass that hoopy Ford Prefect? There’s a frood who really knows where his towel is.” (Sass: know, be aware of, meet, have sex with; hoopy: really together guy; frood: really amazingly together guy.)

It's probably not around right now but trader Joe's pumpkin pie spice in oatmeal is the titties

Also add some chia seeds and fruit in that bitch. If you want a little more texture pumpkin or sunflower seeds

I'm down to one burner on the stove that does not start smoking when I turn the heat on (stupid coils). Guess it's time to consider to start thinking about possibly maybe cleaning them.

Turn on the fan, open the windows and burn 'em like a yule log 'til they stop smoking.

Considering how much of a pain it was to get them clean the last time, I have definitely toyed with that idea.

How does self-cleaning ovens work... and when should I do it? I don't think anyone who has been in this studio has braved it.

Once the door locks this little arm comes (sorta like Rosie on the Jetsons) and scrubs the whole thing clean.

Either that or the high heat burns everything off.

I hope it's former and not the latter.

I didn't know if there was some built in chemical/cleaning that was burned in the oven that helped clean. It is already summer here so I don't want to have to vacate or open the window.

Shit... you missed your window. Spring and fall. My self cleaning oven open the gates of hades. Probably costs 50 bucks in electricity to create that crematorium and to cool down your apartment back to a quasi normal 80.

Yeah it will get really warm in your kitchen when you do it. I've done it in January and the kitchen even with windows open will get up to like 85. Always scares the shit out of me that the wall or cabinets next to the range would burst into flames.

Somehow I never watched Iron Man 3.

I endured Thor: Dark World, but I never saw Iron Man 3. Loving the product placement.

Last Christmas we had a no burn day so we couldn’t use the fireplace. Instead we decided to clean the oven. Didn’t miss a beat. Friends and family couldn’t tell the difference.
