He got $17k in donations for bills that were paid for. Should probably give that money back.

We won’t know for sure if that person is infected for a couple of days, but hospital officials say it’s taking every precaution and is prepared to handle the case.

This was inevitable. No point in panicking.

Grocery stores in my area (pretty close to the first US fatality) are at, like, pre-snowstorm levels of insane. It's not panic, but it's close.

There was a of cars line to the street entrances at Costco, I skipped the stop. At stores there are holes in the shelves where disinfectants are sold. I think there is 1 reported case in VA.

If my neighbors get sick it will be just like the flu, I will do everything I can to avoid it but it may be impossible.

Nearing the point where I'm ready to stock the pantry and freezer a little bit. Not out of fear but desire to avoid crazy people.

It's not confidence, outside of hiding in a bomb shelter for months I don't know what you think you can do if people near you get it. It's accepting that it is probably going to spread and if people that live near me get it then I am probably going to get it even if I stock up with weeks worth of supplies.

Is it much more communicable than the normal flu? Some years I get a flu shot, others I don't. Can't remember the last time I actually got the flu.

Like even in China, the number of cases isn't all that high.

Not saying this isn't a big deal, but also not understanding everyone being resigned to getting it.

If I understand correctly the asymptomatic and mildly ill spread it at a similar rate to the extremely ill.
