Finally did something this evening I've been wanting to do for a few years now... got a 4K TV to use as a computer monitor. My previous home office setup consisted of my laptop's 14" screen and two 19" 1280x1024 monitors. Now I have 43" of 4K glory as my main monitor with the laptop off to the side for auxiliary stuff. It's, like, RILLY BIG. I have to say this isn't an ideal setup; this is one use case where a curved display actually makes sense; at normal monitor viewing distances the corners of the TV are noticeably dimmer but I don't think this will be a problem as the stuff that is my main focus will be centered. The bigger problem is window management. I think I need to find a good utility that allows you to divide up a large display into smaller virtual monitors so I can have my stuff snap to where I want it without having to manually resize every single window (especially once my office reopens and I'm not using the home office exclusively having to rearrange my windows every time I change location is going to be a PITA).

By the way, if anyone was thinking of making a Costco run for groceries this weekend, you'll be too late. Electronics on the other hand, no worries!

Can't you just tab between youporn and pornhub instead of dividing the display?

One thing I didn't stock up on was booze. Guess I could just go with dirty farm girls (or whatever you call a white russian without the vodka) since I have 4 gallons of milk.

what is this? I thought a range/oven at first, but someone pointed out the wheels that are on top in this picture, so the top is the side on the ground. So the door hinges at the side, not the top, as I had thought.

hmmm, yeah, upon further inspection, what I thought was like the glass window in a range is definitely not a viewport. else you should be able to see through it at least opaquely!

it seems like it has a handle for easy access- which wouldn't indicate a chiller or rooftop HVAC to me..

I was thinking a mobile chilling unit like we use at the brewery, and like this sized beast, we don’t move it much or far.
