The only people turned off by that bit of political theatre are those who were already voting for Trump.
I think this mindset of "he is going to be re-elected" is partially due to the PTSD we are still experiencing from Election Night 2016.
If you look at the polls, the eventual Dem nominee stands a good chance of beating Trump.
