Random, Jam'em, hand 'em, and Land 'em

I am getting custody of the cat. I am really worried about moving him to my apartment because he has been inside the house pretty much exclusively (except for occasional vet visits) since he was 5 weeks old. Cats, in my experience, don't often do well with change.

It will be hard for the cat at first, but he/she will get used to it and settle in eventually.

i get my cat and throw it in the carrier and take it for rides across town all the time. it toughens her up, builds character. god forbid if anything would happen to me and my gf and she didn't have that extra edge to survive in the outside world.

We got her in November. Her and our other cat do the chase one another around thing but ate generally good. The older cat loves licking the kitten. She can stand it for like 20 seconds and then starts batting at him.

Where did you rescue your new one from? Did you do the keep the kitten in a separate room for a week thing?

We got him from Four Paws Animal rescue, they got him from a kill shelter in South Carolina along with 14 others that were due to be put down that day. We were a little worried about adding a new cat since our other two were so chill and friendly, but it's worked out great, he's the best. Just loves to be held and cuddle with us.

We set out to do the separate room for a week thing, but he kept running out when we would open the door so it only lasted about a day. It worked out fine though, the existing cats would hiss at him if he got too close for a few days, but didn't bother him. Now him and the one cat get along great they play and groom each other and the other ignores him for the most part.

We moved with our 2 cats and due to a problem with the closing had to stay in a hotel for 3 weeks. So we took the cats from the old house to the hotel for 3 weeks and then to the new house and they had no problems adjusting at all.

Cats should usually adjust pretty quickly. If not, just leave the door open.

Changed my Amazon password recently and sent the new one to my parents and brother, who use my Prime account.

After the 4th email today of Amazon password assistance/one time passcodes being sent, I texted the three of them to ask if anyone was having trouble because I'm getting a bunch of emails.

Dad calls 10 seconds later saying he doesn't understand, thinks he's entering the new password right. I'm like, do it again and tell me what you're seeing. He puts in the password, it asks him if the phone number or email address associated with the account have changed, he clicks no, it asks him whether he wants a one time passcode to login emailed or texted to him, he chooses email. At this point I remind him I'm getting all the emails because it's my email on the account. He says oh, can you send it to me? Miraculously, this solves the problem. Like what did you think was happening the first four times you did that?

Technology and people in their 60s. Helluva thing.

There are plenty of people in all age brackets that are technologically clueless. Help desk staff have piles of crazy stories, cyber teams fight off all manner of obvious fishing shit weekly, and you can just people watch to see idiocies all around you.

Doesn't get any better when they reach their 80s.

As frustrating as it can be it's equally amazing how much they can do.

I actually think people are getting smarter in most ways... Not sure if that gives us hope, or the opposite.

Hard to say. I tend to think I'm getting dumber, not in reasoning skills but in keeping track of important things that happen. i seem to have to work harder to know less.

But at least if I get dumber people around me will seem smarter then I'll also be able to have hope.

Not that I'm saying that's werthless' case too, no sir.

It was a rough 24 hours for my hope in others (and the English language), The final straw came when I decided to buy Powerball tickets on my way home. Asked for $10 of Powerball and handed the cashier a twenty dollar bill. She accidentally enters $10 in the register and the world stopped. She just couldn't figure out what to do, so she closed the cash drawer and sought her manager for assistance.

Depends on the measuring stick but I agree with you in many areas. In other areas, both basic and advanced, not so much.

As we age I think there's a trade-off and what we receive in return is wisdom.

Brevadar County alert: Rapid unscheduled disassembly of falcon nine booster expected resulting in marine debris.

Less then a minute later they send out a follow up saying “rapid disassembly means the booster will break break up/burn up”.

General common sense seems to be an increasing mystery to a lot of people.

I mean did anyone but me know if you miss you turn you can just take the next exit? You don’t need to shoot across 3 lane to get there or get to the shoulder so you can back up (saw the second one on the beltway last week).
